Why is this guy so afraid of someone recognizing his voice that he synthesized it? The old axiom "follow the money" leads me to believe that this person wants to "sell" something to help people recover.... AA is free... and my experience of over 30 years of recovery tells me that if anyone, whether they are alcoholic or not, applies the principles of the 12 steps to their personal life, they can enjoy personal serenity and peace of mind. What more would an alcoholic want?
AA and 12 step-based programs to stop drinking do indeed have a 92% failure rate. People that it does work for do actually become addicted to working the 12 steps. For those of you angrily railing against this video, do not want to hear the truth. You are still an addict, and are brainwashed to believe that if you embrace a higher power and keep going to meetings is what keeps you sober. I'm glad it works for you, but I have seen it fail far more than it has succeeded.
A few days ago I talked to a friend who drinks 24+ beer a day. I suggested he might like to take it easy, sober up for a few weeks and think about it. He became amazingly angry, attacked me in every way possible and explained that he was satisfied and happy with his drinking. This is called a defense mechanism, and this kind of blind rage over somebody else suggesting that their addiction is an issue neatly explains the spirit behind this video and a LOT of the comments here. Cheers.

You need a scientific study to fully decide whether AA is efficient or not.
