Cavalry Demo- Speed

Empire and Napoleon Total War Cavalry Demo.

Brief and simple demonstration of one of the main Cavalry tactics of the 18th and 19th centuries- speed. Charging a heavy artillery battery with Dragoons, first you see what happens when you move slowly in a densely packed formation (which is accurate when moving fast for shock against infantry, but not against guns), then when you move fast in a widely spread front. The results are night and day.

Demo was filmed in Empire: Total War, using the DarthMod addon. Units are the Second Continental Dragoons (American Cavalry), Tarleton's Legion (British Cavalry), and generic 24 pounder heavy field artillery. Film was captured with FRAPS and edited in the AVS Film Editor.
