According to Rolling Stone the Public Option as it is right now is going to do no more than leave 40 million uninsured versus 50 million and the cost is going to sky rocket just as it is now. Single Payer is the solution. $350 billion in paperwork alone would be saved per year. "Health care is a condition not a commodity," Bill Moyer. If a public option passes it is just a pyrrhic victory. No doubt at all Obama goes with the Trigger Option so he can avoid blame when things go badly.

Rodger - who is this "they" you speak of? The sad truth was summed up in a comic, 'Pogo', with the line, "We have met the enemy.. and he is us". We are responsible for electing leadership that sucks. We are responsible for buying Chinese products instead of American, and accepting American products that are poorly made instead of demanding quality.
I know it's not sexy to lay the blame on personal responsibility, but we really do have the government and corporations we asked for - and deserve.

hmm the title is deceptive. Weiner was adamant about opposing the trigger. His one line about it passing wasn't what he emphasized.
