first stop !! Staymor hotel .co.uk ! be one of the first to ride the tram when it goes into service in 2012 at Easter our hotel is directly opposite the first stop !!

@zoomeristen Yes the tram depot is new and they will be retaining the old depot for the heritage fleet.

just think back in 1934/35 when the railcoach and Balloon tram first made their appearance on the streets f Blackpool and Fleetwood, they were the super trams of the time, people visiting the area had never anything trams like that and it all thanks to Walter Luft, you could say he invented the super tram some 56 yrs b4 Manchester rediscovered the tram

@gallafey Most of the old tram designs were unique to Blackpool.
The new trams look the same as most other trams that have been introduce to other systems in this country.
Bad choice of livery for these trams, as I saw 001 in the rain the other day looking very grimy (white not a good choice).

Great footage. It will be very interesting to see how the new units cope with salty sea air and the occaisional storm on the prom.
