  • Hi Greg,

I bought an open-back banjo in September and since I'm learning to play clawhammer style. I love the old-time songs like this. I actually started to compose some French (I'm from France).

Would you be willing to share the lyrics of this song so she can become one of my "classic" in evenings by the fire?

Kudos to you for your work and your songs.

Where can I find your songs on the banjo as "Meeting is over"?

Thank you and good luck to you!

  • @eRONYTUBE Hi there, thanks for the kind words! The words are:

Fathers now our meeting is over, Fathers we must part.

And if I never see you anymore, I love you in my heart.

Land on the shore, we'll land on the shore.

Land on the shore and be saved for ever more.

Then just repeat this with "Mother" "Brother" and "Sister"

Good luck and happy new year!

  • i had the pleasure of watching you perform at the #2 yesterday. im the guy from the paranormal group here in portland that was joking about the 6 string banjo :). i love your cd man. this is a great song, probably my favorite.

  • I love it! What tuning are you using? And thank you in advance.

  • @autumdiver :Thank you so much Greg for sharing your lyrics.

Happy new year to you too !

  • Absolutely fantastic sir, beautiful music!

  • @666hektic hi there, the song is derived from an oldtime tune sung acapella by Dillard Chandler. The two versions are very different from each other though. Thanks for the comment!
