This book has 52 actions that one can use, as a participant or a leader, for issues that you think need to be heard. Generally, using two or more people. These actions are directly focused on environmental and social issues. However, they can be adapted for many many people and many many situations. For example, action 25: T-shirt making: can be done by anyone with a shirt and something to mark it with. Very straightforward. He also gives each action a rating how fun, material intensive, and risky they can be.

Mike Hudema, the author, is "the man" for Greenpeace Edmonton and an acquaintance. It's an interesting experience reading a book when one knows the author. You look for the authors character in the book. His came across. The book read as direct, serious, and passionate but in a fun, positive and enthusiastic manner. Pretty accurate of him BUT is that my perception? Read a book by someone you know and let me know what you think?!

If you are interested in ways to get your voice heard "out there," this book CAN help. In an unintended way, it rejuvenated my activism by adding to my repertoire of actions and helping me remember why i do some of the things i do.

This vid. could have been done with more clarity and without my mumblin...but that wouldn't be me :)

Neatness.

  • gud to argue abt ths but why the swearing words

  • you are an asshole ,

    capitalism is modern

if you h8 it so much, go live with a native tribe in brazil, and you will enjoy the collectivism lifestyle

people like you are a burden of society

no wonder you worry about getting fired

    fucking butthole

  • Q: Have you always been a simplistic twit?

  • LOL but yeah, columbia university is ivy league lol

i am not retarded......... i know how to spell ivy

i don't want to explain but my mom's maiden name is ivie so, yeah i like to spell it that way. also i am not using capital letters or even using periods

    read some ellen kennedy

if i had the room,i would double space 2

it is off the subject ,the point is

    you don't know shit

try to explain why poverty is good

and try to explain why capitalism is bad

do you think rich people are evil ???

  • Ivy League? You can't even spell Ivy League!

  • I don't understand people like you,

you depend on other people so much ,

I got into an Ivie league on MY OWN,

I don't have a job, I import Wine from spain and chile.

I am my own boss. I make a living from doing business with other countries.

what do you want ? U want the u.s to be isolated like north korea ?

capitalism is good, Mexico used to be less of a capitalistic country but now it is better then it was, but mexico still is greatly controlled by the corrupt government interferiance

  • "jobs that get shipped away to third world countries are low paying manufacturing jobs"

So now it's the TYPE of job that the issue? And I don't understand basic economics? You have zero knowledge of what globalization has wrought. Or you choose not to see what it has wrought.

  • If there were no capitalism , then there would be no jobs at all.

First of all , I don't like the way your thinking, that I depend on job. I am an Independent person.

2nd of all , jobs that get shipped to other countries are low paying manufactoring jobs, The low paying jobs in the u.s are service jobs that can not be shipped off.

Some jobs to get shipped off in the technology field , but i do not work that industry, You have a way of thinking that self defeating and ur life is going to b limted

  • you make no sense ?

if there was no capitalism there would be zero jobs because there would be no businesses.

Also jobs that get shipped away to third world countries are low paying manufacturing jobs. The low paying jobs mostly in the u.s are service jobs that you can't ship away. Your way of thinking is funny, you don't even understand basic economics.

  • "whats wrong with Global Capitalism?"

Nothing. Until your job gets shipped off to El Salvador (or Vietnam or India or China or Mexico) because the overhead is cheaper there for your company.

When that happens to you, come back and tell us how much you love global Capitalism. And until that happens to you, you have no say in the matter.
