well I tried that and the black dude did just 0-0-0.
actually then I noticed that he had great bishops (on f5 and d6) undermining everywhere and my infamous knight stranded on b3 blockaded my own pawns on the queen-side. not that Kb3 was bad but I didn't watch his moves. meh

black shudnt have castled i think so, maybe he shud have decided to castle later or shudnt. coz blacks pawn chain (king side) is horrible for castling, and early in the game i feel the white bishop is the reason for bad castling in blacks king side.. pawn on e5 for me looks dangerous to black if he castle king side

i like how you added in 'svidler would likely beat us all in a simultaneous'. sure these are blunders made by black in a grandmaster game, but against (most) of us, we would scratch our heads at how to exploit them!

Does anyone else wonder why after nc5, black chose to play kh8? If instead, Nxd4, Ahh, nevermind. if Nxd4, then Bxh7+ Kxh7, Qxd4 and white is up a minor piece, and the knights aren't immediately exploitable even without their guardian pawn on d4... Interesting position!

Granted I cast the two weakest responses for Black following the choice of Re8 or other. It shows just how much White has to gain from Black's move regarding the No Re8. There are some moves that favorite Black if Re8 or no Re8, but that should give you an idea what Black is going against at that time

From watching KC, I have started to love the Caro-Cann, and it has become my favourite defence, but after this Nb3 tactic, I feel like all is lost!
By the way, we should pay KC for this help and entertainment, because instead of watching TV, I watch KC!
