A tribute to the members of the 08th Mobile Suit Team, which served during the One Year War, but in their own way.

In the Universal Century 0079, Side 3, the space colony cluster furthest away from Earth, declared themselves the Principality of Zeon. They declared a war of independence against the Earth Federal Government. In a little more than a month of fighting resulted in the death of half of the general population of the Principality of Zeon and the Federation Forces.

People were horrified of their own actions.

The war entered into a stalemate, and Zeon forces had occupied large area's of the Earth surface, yet unable to give the Federation the final blow.

However, after the successes of the RX-78 Gundam and the development of the mass produced RGM-79 GM's, the Federation decided to use spare parts of the RX-78 Project to construct the RX-79 Gundam Ground Type, used in operations in Southeast Asia.

The young and inexperienced Ensign Shiro Amada is given the task to command one of the Mobile Suit Teams operating the RX-79[G], the 08th MS Team.

Unfortunately, Shiro has fallen in love with Aina Sahalin, a female Zeon pilot, given the task to pilot the destructive Apsalus Mobile Armour. This impossible love forces Shiro to fight his own way, thereby conflicting with his superiors.

this was my favorite gundam series because you didnt follow around a super ace and watch him beat the crap out of everyone you followed a grunt during the war around and i really liked that change of pace made it seem more realistic in my opinion

The best series in the entire Gundam-verse, by far the most realistic in terms of story and the usage of the mecha. The song fits it well.

@jkhuskies09 they weren't actually made from spare parts, they were repaired using such since there were very few parts that were actually made to repair them with, since they were produced in such few numbers. They were planned to be a mass production line of gundams, but I don't think it ever panned out.

the RX-79[G] are Prototypes mobile suits, only 12 were made, and because only 12 were made, your right repairs consist of spare mobile suit parts that is why Shiro's Gundam got the a RX-79[G]-EZ8 or the E8 Gundam

The anime shows Rear Admiral Yuri Kellarny (Wiki! Like I would ever remember a name like that) retreating back to the South-East Asia theatre after the defeat in Odessa. So'll the series is partially before Odessa (begins at Garma's funeral) till some time after Odessa.
