The new New Pornographers video (it's new). The song is "Myriad Harbour" off of Challengers. The video is directed by Mark Lomond of the Flourescent Hill collective.

  • I love music videos like this. This stylized stuff is so much more interesting to watch than that stupid MTV shit with some guy in front of a camera with his bling and lights going off. Though, I don't mind the girls in it. ;)

Not to mention this just looks really cool.

  • I love this band.

    I love this song.

    I love this video.

  • video e musica muito muito bom...congratulações!

  • <3 The New Pornographers <3

  • Reminds me of Peter Max.

  • Russel Brand's hair? No, that is Dan Bejar's hair.

  • @TroutAmbush You mean Dan Bejar's hair? That's who that is.

  • You're both wrong. It's about pussy.

  • yes but i wouldn't say this song is about stereotypes. it's about boys and girls, art and the search amongst the myriad.

he always takes a plane, a train (a myriad) but he ALWAYS ends up in the city (the myraid harbor in one sense)

he looks for things to do. why are the girls so pretty?

he's in search of something amongst the myriad. and the only thing he "ever needed help was with you."

the song is about discovery of self in the myriad (through the vehicles of girls, the city, art, etc)

  • myriad = having innumerable phases, aspects, variations, etc.

myriad harbor = harbor in the sun, with sparkles infinitely changing/different given your perspective/view

contrast that with the rest of the lyrics, and i feel the main message is that humanity is so vast and repeating in its individuality that many views/people may be the same at first glance, yet infinitely different given the minute details...IMO, of course.

in essence, stereotypes may describe, but they do not capture.

  • .. they put together a few of the most intelligent musicians in the English Speaking World and came up with songs like this.. I'm amazed

  • The song is about New York City. The video is about Russel Brand's hair. Or something.
