  • Furthere. the injuries requiring veterinary assistance is 0.036%.

If the i njuries to roping animals and barrel racing animals were taken into consideration then the statistics would be so small as to be practically meaningless.

  • Not vets were called during these series of videos. The videos speak for themselves.

  • Are you saying terrorizing a horse is not cruelty? Animals struggle in the chutes because of pain or fearful anticipation of pain. From past experience, these animals know they will be electric shocked, have sharp spurs dragged from shoulders to flanks, hit, rope burned by a flank rope which causes them to lose some control of their hind legs if too tightly fastened. That's why they fall over. Just because other 'sports' abuse animals doesn't mean we should ignore it happening in rodeos.

  • All the videos show are a horse fighting the chute and a couple of them falling over AFTER the rider is thrown.

It does not show injuries, lameness, or cruelty.

More horses suffer stress and injury in 3 day events and race meetings

  • however, I am glad calf roping is no longer a contest in SA. That was unneccessary.

Steer roping using bigger animals still requires skill and a well trained horse (Not to be confused with steer tripping which is banned in ALL Australian rodeos.)

  • Its a SPORT???????????????? No matter what anyone says? Ummm okay sport is FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, RUNNING, BASEBALL. This is cruelty dsiguised as entertainment. What your trying to say is Breaking a calves neck is SPORT, what world do you live in?

  • xD wow. Please. No one can change this. Its a sport no matter what anyone says. Why should you try to change our sports? What if everyone procrastinated against YOUR sport? Jumping? I think its wrong, honestly. Put your horses to some use... ranch work, barrels, poles.... things that involve guts. Mkayy?

  • Lil Miss Dakota or shall I say Ignorant Fool, no animal is bred to buck, Bucking is a genuine response to fear or uncomfort. For you to actually think that animals are bred to buck is beyond belief, all it shows is your IGNORANCE. I wonder who fed you that lot of bullshit. Almost every horse can be used for ranch work, with proper care and training. Rodeo makes men and women stronger LOLOLOL actually it shows me how pathetic cowards treat their animals.

  • To dakotacowgirl21:It is inherently obvious that there is nothing wrong with the people who have commented agreeing that this should not be tolerated. Please consider the possibility that there is something wrong with you. You are obviously not going to contribute anything towards the progression of society or the human species (or any species for that matter), so may I suggest that I use you for a rodeo? When I'm done, a bull can have a go at you too! Don't worry, it will make you stronger!

  • WTF is wrong with you all! Rodeo is makes men and women stronger. These animals are bred to buck! The horses are untamed, and are horses that cant be used for ranch work. Ya'll are messed up!
