I don't think that I got off the topic becuase your original message was putting down Blacks and you were using words like, "at alarming rates" etc. so my point was to get you to see that crime, deadbeat dads, etc. are not JUST a Black thing. Do you ever look at the statistics for the White men that are being chased for child support? I am very offended when one race puts another down when it's race is doing the exact same thing.We are all one race "HUMAN"

You're rambling and have gotten off topic. But to humor you, yes more white men are on death row. 42% of the prison population is black, but only 14% of national population. Does that mean they are more likely to commit criminal acts? White women do have more abortions than black women. Studies have shown that more minorties would opt for that but can't afford the cost in many instances or it's simply more acceptable (including their religious views). As for white priests? Not many left.

The self-fulfilling prophecy you are mentioning doesn't only relate to race, but to any circumstance when a person begins to believe in the hatred/negative attitudes expressed by others/society toward that person. You're right too when you say racism can cause individuals make inappropriate choices. It can also make them more determined in their struggle to overcome and succeed. This is a personal choice and up to the individual. Do you think only minorities have to overcome discrimination?
