  • Was this song on like a bounty commercial or something!

  • @tanaj2009 The song is very famous, from a spanish habanera, an Opera called "Carmen". This is the african american version of that song so you have heard it probably dozens of time throughout your life on different commercials, tv shows and movies.

  • i love classic black movies. Dorthy Dandridge, pam grier. It is going to be hard to find these movies

  • I have Diana Ross' Mahagony and I LOVE IT. Get it ladies.

  • why do people keep bringing up marilyn horne? Everybody knows this already. it's like they say it to take something away from Dorothy Dandridge. I doubt marilyn could have made that song as sexy or powerful on the screen, whether she sang it or not.

  • Pinches americanos pendejos, todo estropean, se escucha horrible esa ópera en inglés...

    :0(

  • if you don't like the english version of the song then don't listen. escribo en espanol para su, pendejo/idioso. Carmen la cantana de opera en ingles o espanol es mucho hermoso. digo yo, Dorothy dandridge es muy guapa y la cinema is bien. con amor

  • I hate the whole " Den" and "Dat" talk... Of course they had to make it look as if black folks couldn't speak properly. Other than that love this movie!

  • Cindy Lou had several opportunities throughout the film to smack a bitch, and didnt. She lost what wasnt hers in the first place! lol

  • @heyjana That's the only problem I am having with it so far. I would love to watch it, but she sounds so crazy proper when she says them that it is jarring lol.

  • Her singing was dubbed by Marylin Horne

  • A 1954 movie

  • @heyjana

it was being true to the times and culture.

  • Oscar Hammerstein, book & lyrics. His writing partner, Richard Rodgers, wasn't involved in this.
