@BiggestBigTuna the formula he put up there, z^8+c, when graphed creates this image that you see, it's just pluging in values from z and solving the equation and then the answer to that equation is put in for z and so on so forth which is why the graphs are infinite =D. I HAD to watch a video that explained it after watching them =P. but with regards to the bulb and box thing i think it may just be the different looks that the graphs have (boxy, bulby)

@xlace I'm searching for Mandelbulber-Mac on SourceForge, not seeing it, can you post a link? Thanks. BTW, how about a stereorig for this great ap?

this would be a great GPU benchmarking tool
reminds me of furmark

possible to fly through at a faster rate?
If having FPS issues maybe use a gpu with a large memory bandwidth maybe GTX 580 or GTX 285 in SLI
would be interesting to see a more comprehensive tour

@BiggestBigTuna It's a sex toy from the next dimension

Thanks a lot for this great video and the mandelbulber. I have started developing of fractal rendering programs myself and thought maybe i can learn something from the sources. Is there any development documentation of the mandelbulber sources to get into them?
btw: what happens @ 1:21 - 1:27 in the upper right corner? Are those little rendering errors or parts of the formula? Someone knows?

@d0lphchrist, Few days ago I have created SVN repository for Mandelbulber. There will be full documentation of source code. code.google.com/p/mandelbulber/
In this corner there is visible overstepping problem (too high values of estimated distance to the fractal surface)

These Mandelbulb's are incredible. I am curious, what software did you use to make this, is it available freely or commercially? I have a few so called 3D fractal animators, but they cannot do anything this detailed or spectacular.

@TheKageRyu, I wrote program by myself. This program is open-source and is available on SourceForge. Please find program called Mandelbulber.
