Also, as an American born in Germany and brought up by Irish American parents, I wish Germany and Ireland would withdraw from the Euro.

The now Lady Thatcher was quite correct in keeping the Pound Sterling from being integrated into the Euro which is now being butchered by the mismanagement by many within the Euro Community.

I am not necessarily a fan of Thatcher but this was a fine speech. She argues very persuasively that the any surrender of sovereign power should alway be put to a referendum. The electoral system doesn't offer any such guarantees in its current form.
