Right, but if you don't teach them that their food isn't just theirs, then it may make a dog feel like they own the house. We had a similar problem with a dog that had aggressive issues and after putting our hands in his food enough to establish that we were the leaders of the pack, he stopped being so aggressive.
Cute shiba! But just to warn you, I heard that you shouldn't really be touching his food while eating... Something to do with what they would do in the wild.
Great job at teaching your Shiba, Cody, to share his food! Hand feeding is a double plus! I also love how you talk to him while you do it!
