I wish anti-gun African-Americans would research the history of gun control in America. They would find that most gun-control laws had racist intent. There was no federal gun control until after Emancipation. The most stringent came right after the Civil Rights Bill was passed.

Wake up black America!!! Given the history of oppression of blacks in this country, I think that every law-abiding black citizen should be armed to the teeth.

The problem isn't gun legality, it's criminals. They banned murder, it still happens, but now only criminals murder people. Ban guns, and only criminals will have guns, because they will disregard the law. They get cocaine and heroin illegally. They'll get guns the same way. A new law isn't the answer, when people aren't even following the current laws.

@maxfirepower Actually, there is a very weak correlation between guns & violence and a fairly strong correlation between race & violence. I don't know the stats off the top of my head but those are absolutely kept. Any criminology journal should have several studies on that subject.

He's a smart man, but he just doesn't get it. Like so many on the left, he won't acknowledge that there is a difference between law abiding people having full, unfeterred access to guns and criminals using guns in violent crimes. Why is that so hard to understand??

Red flags for any political opinion, position, legislation regardless of its political lean:

1) "reasonable" - basically trying to say it won't deviate too far of your interests, whatever they are

2) "common sense" - i support what you support, just don't tell me what you support

3) bill titles with an emotional appeal (no child left behind, patriot, etc.)

Do well do discard the thought any politician, lobbyist, political group, soccer mom, every man who uses those terms in a serious manner.
