James Dick was one of six recipients to receive the Texas Exes 2009 Distinguished Alumnus Award on October 9. This video highlights his life and accomplishments. James Dick received a BM in 1963 from The University of Texas at Austin. He lives in Round Top and is a renowned concert pianist who performs with symphonies worldwide and was named Texas State Musician in 2003 and Texas Medal of the Arts recipient in 2009. He founded The Festival-Institute at Round Top as a place for young musicians to study under scholarship.
