  • no half inch gap around the outer edge???

  • Hi 77hurl,

There is definitely a gap. Maybe the shadow makes it look like there isn't.

  • I'm tight too

  • OOhhh!!!!! The gap??? Upps!!!

  • What kind of adhesive tape is it?

  • @BuildDirect But he isn't even using spacers, how can he guarantee that he's got the required spacing? I see no gap or spacers. If there is, why no spacers?

  • i just had a question to ask of you according to your expertise.i just bought a brand new home 10 months ago and the hardwood floor is sinking down in some areas, spreading apart about the width of the side of a quarter between alot of planks and some areas near my stairs have dips, and also i will be walking and clip the tip of my shoe hitting some areas thait it is lifting can you please tell me if this is wrong or is it natural settling? thank you for your time

    Hi

I forgot i made a comment on that video so I looked at it again.

Most likely a 4in to 5in board. that seams to be the norm these days for engineered or clic systems.

My work can be seen at davesflooring net

  • @xcntrik1 HI that look like a 3/5 inch was it

  • no spacers?

  • Only soild stock hardwoods need to be installed perpendicular to the floor joists. The hardwood you were installing is an engineered product and you were floating the floor. Engineered hardwoods can be glued or nailed to the wood floor aswell and the direction of the floor joists does not matter.
