Body Armor Shooting Test with various pistol calibers against an Ultima soft armor panel manufactured by Second Chance
This soft body armor panel is Level IIIa
The Ultima soft armor panel we used for our testing was manufactured in Dec, 2001
We tested the body armor panel in June, 2009

Handguns and ammo we used for this test are;
Glock 23 with .40 FMJ 165 grain reload
NAA Mini Revolver with .22 short 29 grain Federal
Glock 23 with .40 S&W 165 grain Speer Gold Dot
Glock 35 (w/ 9mm barrel) with 9mm 147 grain Federal HST
S&W 342 AirLite with .38 special 125 grain Speer Gold Dot
Taurus 44SS6 with .44 magnum 240 grain reload

was the kevlar still stiff and pristine when you tested it or did it feel more loose? i have a piece dated from 03 it feels really loose when i rub it or pick it up compared to newer pieces and i dont have a pistol to test it

I donnt remember anymore, that was a year ago.. but I think how often it was worn would be an issue.. this stuff was worn daily for it's legal lifespan before we shot it

I believe that is the armor that was recalled because it failed in some cases

hello, do you have any idea what happens if i have two level II vests and use all the inserts on only one vest? so i would have a vest with two soft panels in each pocket. will the protection level increase?
