Rodin Museum - Philadelphia 2011 by Albert Fried-Cassorla
Philadelphia's Rodin Museum is an under-appreciated artistic gem! We took our tour on a day of torrential rain, which might in fact have accentuated our enjoyment of the human-created beauty within in contrast to the drippiness outside. As bad as my hand-help camera work is, you will enjoy some clear views of sculptures famous and lesser-known. Don't forget to pause the video to study anything that interests you. Among the items covered are: The Thinker, The Burgers of Calais, Balzac, Victor Hugo, Camille Claudel (see the excellent film about her), and others. Wikipedia has an excellent introductory article that gives you background on much shown in my video: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auguste_Rodin Do read up on The Burgers of Calais, The Gates of Hell, as those stories are provocative.
