    There's a difference between "out of tune" and "intentionally dissonant" that I think you're missing. If you don't like it, fine, but it's not inherently bad because it doesn't conform to the tradition of consonant pop music.

    "Dissonance should be an accident and as such a transient stat to a consonance" clearly you've never studied Schoenberg or, you know, most 20th century (let alone 21st) art music. A dissonance can be intended and indeed emphasised rather than an 'accident'. Ever hear a horror film soundtrack where all those dissonant stabs/chords all resolve nicely each time? Obviously this can also happen in other music.

    no, i'm afraid he's plain out of tune. Dissonance should be an accident and as such a transient state to a consonance. it doesn't mean it's not on purpose but it should be called what it is and I'm afraid Tom is right. He's just out of tune...
