Mulan unofficial trailer

Many critics of Disney depict the company as having hidden agendas within their animated features. With regards to Disney's Mulan, some have said that it supports cross-dressing and homosexual agendas because Mulan disguises herself as a man - though she does the same in the traditional Chinese tale of Hua-mulan - and is accused in the movie by one of her ancestors of being a cross-dresser.

This 'trailer' is meant to rebuke much of what is written on Disney as well as to challenge anyone who watches and reads this: don't simply take someone else's opinion as your own. Experiences are subjective and contextual; this trailer leads the viewer to believe Disney's Mulan to be something it isn't: an action movie. Therefore even though many of these authors view Disney as a evil empire out to destroy our (Christian) morals, values and society, you might not. Do a little research for yourself and see where it takes you, then make up your mind.

All the clips are taken form Disney's Mulan and the music used in the piece is called Requiem for a Tower by Corner Stone Cues.

Yes why cant people just enjoy a movie for what it is? Why do they always have to read too much into it and come up with foolish nonsence like cross-dressing and such? AS you said, well put, and excellent trailer. Love the way you matched the song to the footage.

the story came before the cross-dressing. she needed to cross-dress to do what she did, or there would be no story. besides, even if it was intentional, the good meaning of the story; making a change, fighting for what's right and doing what you have to do far outweighs that one tiny fault.

Those critics need a hobby to stop them from becoming too bored and finding non-existing faults in innocent, faultless movies. They need to relax.

Critics can and do pander to public morals or, rather, public opinions. When the religious community finally nailed Joan of Arc, they did it on a technicality. Unable to prove she was a witch or heeding the words of the devil, they pointed out that she was wearing men's clothing, a strict violation of some obscure Biblical text in Deuteronomy, I believe.

Well, actually, one of the Mulan charactes accuses her of being a cross-dresser. Mushu also complains about "Miss Man" taking her drag act on the road. So it's understandable where the critics got their complaints. However, they needed to see the cross-dressing as a necessary aspect of Mulan's choices rather than one endorsing a lifestyle.
