http://chris.pirillo.com/what-is-facebook-application-spam/ Over the past week, several members of the LockerGnome community contacted me to let me know that CNET has run a tutorial on how to get rid of spammy Facebook apps. One of the apps they used to demonstrate the process is a video distribution app that carries the LockerGnome name.
My first response was, "I have a Facebook app?" It turns out, the app they used as an example was one of those projects I signed up for and completely forgot about after the fact. In this instance, I agree with CNET using this particular app as an example.
On behalf of myself and LockerGnome, I apologize if you felt that you were a victim of any spam that came as a result of this Facebook app. AppRats is in no way associated with LockerGnome, and LockerGnome is not associated with AppRats.
At this time, we have no official apps within Facebook other than fan pages for myself and LockerGnome.
