Today, at a rally in Bristol, VA, Barack Obama received a maple walking stick from 95 year old Franklin County resident Charles Edwards.

President Teddy Roosevelt coined the West African proverb, "Speak softly and carry a big stick".

  • @widgetbrain hows your hope and change now?

  • The irony is Obama really exemplifies Big Stick Diplomacy better than any president I remember. They say he focuses on diplomacy, but it's diplomacy with the threat of force.

  • hahahaha 1:28 "a bunch of ham"

  • @Olineshutdown lol liked that comment :P

  • lol, in history class we were talking about Teddy Roosevelt and when the teacher said "big stick" everyone in the class bursted out laughing xDDD

  • this is not what teddy meant....

  • @Olineshutdown Why don't you look at what he majored in. I can't believe we elected a community organizer into office, do you know what community organizers do? They go into the poor neighborhoods and get them angry about all the "rich people" and the things they have. Do you know who qualifies as rich? I do, because I live in a house that's falling apart, my family drives cars that are old and broken, we eat generic brand food and we don't have enough money to pay for the mandatory healthcare.

  • Ya, he went to harvard, and was average, i dont like average people in the white house

  • Yeah!

Because blocking everything will keep us in the situation we're in.

And then you can't blame the dem president for you sides stupidity.

  • This elderly man gave a gift from his heart to a man who was able to become the first black president we have ever had. That was very thoughtful of him to do.

It was a act to show respect for our president from one black man to another.

It is a shame that everything has to be made political and unkind things said by GOP people even when the subject or video is focused on something nice to do.

I am an unaffiliated voter if you need to know that.
