  • Oh, and one more thing... Were I the ATC supervisor at Phoenix, I'd have responded to your threat to declare minimum fuel with "Roger, expect vectors to the VOR 4R approach into Chandler." You not taking enough fuel on your flight is no reason to try to strong-arm your way into the established flow of traffic.

  • Ugh... Really? Turbines run out of fuel faster? I didn't realize that 45 minutes in a turbine was significantly shorter than 45 minutes in something else. And I don't feel that "threats" have any place in ATC interaction. Advisories, sure - But working with ATC should be a cooperative venture towards flight safety. Plus, I never heard American 2 heavy say anything about fuel whatsoever. And... An hour and a half of fuel? In a Skylane?
