http://www.swtorstrategies.com/ One of the things we like about the lead up to the Star Wars: The Old Republic launch is BioWare's series of timeline videos that explains the political and military background of the upcoming MMO. The fifth holorecord from the Jedi Archive is The Battle of Bothawui which recounts a major Republic victory against the Sith. It also chronicles the last stand of a heroic group of Jedi knights and Republic troopers, who became martyrs in the struggle against the Sith Empire.
If you're following along with the lore of Star Wars: The Old Republic you'll want to watch "The Battle of Bothawui" on the game's official site. http://www.swtorstrategies.com/

I'm relieved to see the story becoming something of real quality and substance. I was afraid this might go the way of clone wars and end up a childish, laughable affair but I can feel that all important "this IS star wars" feeling already. These timeline videos are getting more epic and grand as they go, might be too early to say yet but I think they're getting it right. Hooray!
Oh c'mon, Revan's strategies did fail. To control the galaxy? Well he ended up destroying his Empire that he built with his traitor apprentice and became a hero.

Well yes, balance is a huge issue. How can they possibly make any other class comparable to the Jedi and Sith? It would take some serious bending of the established lore to make balanced classes. I'm not saying Bioware is incapable of that, but that is a basic mechanic of MMOs that is complicated by the Star Wars license.
I suppose from my perspective, it is such an ambitious project, handicapped by what I feel is a very clunky universe. As I said, I hope I'm wrong.
Ah damn, you caught me. I'm actually an employee of Blizzard trying to keep you from the best game ever to save my own ass..not just a random person in a comments section on Youtube voicing a slight concern about a game that has been hyped through the roof. Ya, you keep with that.
what you work at DQ just kidding no but you are right the hype for the old republic is through the roof but mostly because of the success of biowares games please do not correct my spelling
The option to solo is fine, so long as there are more benefits to grouping, like old MMOs(see, real MMOS). If people have the option to solo BETTER than group, they won't group, and you won't have an MMO.
