One statement that Michael Crichton made in one of his book asks (paraphrasing here) what makes human's so arrogant too believe so greatly in their own self-importance? The earth has been here for Billions of years, and when we humans die off (not if, when) the earth will still be here. And do you not hear that frantic idiocy (deliberately, I might add) being promulgated by Boxer? Shouting out a slow-considering, patient scientist like Gray, as though this were an isolated case, like a divorce case in the lower courts. It's not. It's science. Science will never go away, will never leave us, will always be there until the end. Some of these scientists are far too patients for the idiot, Boxer. And she exploits this. Science moves too slow for democrat politicians.
