WAP5 India's longest 12283 Ernakulam Nizamuddin Duronto blasts past Hodal in Haryana, 88 km from New Delhi. Dust storm towards the end.
P5 GZB 30032.
The longest running ERS Duronto has very low patronage. More than half of the train is always empty, say the regular passengers. Non stop run for almost 3000 km looks weird and not feasible. An exception maybe made for this Duronto for few additional halts.
Journey sucked with no food choices or snacks. Whatever is stuffed into your mouth, take it. Also the concept of stupid green toilets is so gross with excreta clogging and the nasty smell lingering in the coaches.
ERS Duronto runs weekly. 12283 departs ERS Tuesdays and 12284 departs NZM Saturdays.
Technical halts - Kozhikode, Mangalore, Madgaon, Ratnagiri, Vasai Road, Vadodara and Kota.
12283 covers 2943 km in 44 hrs, and average 66 km/hr.
12284 covers same distance in 44.55 hrs, and average 65 km/hr.
12283 departs ERS 23:30 and arrives NZM third day, 19:30.
12284 departs NZM 21:35 and arrives ERS third day, 18:30.
