Part 4 - Ask the taxi drivers at the resort. You can make a deal with them for half a day to go and see the Puerto Plata or other places. Be aware of the exchange US dollars vs. Dominican Pesos when buying and tipping. You will be charged for an electricity fee. That is a great place to vacation.

Part 3- That resort is kind of quiet. If you need more action go to down town Cabarete and Puerto Plata. For dollar exchange you get better rates with big banks like Banco Popular, Scotiabank, etc. The rates at the resort are not that great. Great places to go: Water rafting in Jarabacoa, Puerto Plata, Catamaran with snorkeling, dunes buggies, and more. If you dare to drive be sure to drive like them (crazy) or you will get into and accident. Recommendation: Do not rent a car.

Part 2 -No wireless internet on the rooms, you have to come down near the lobby the get signal or use their (free) computers and free long distance calls. The food is good, the restaurants are open (no air conditioning). The beach is not that great, you may find better beaches closer to down town Cabarete and Puerto Plata. They also have good tours. AVOID getting souvenirs from their store, they are very expensive. Go to down town Cabarete or Puerto Plata for souvenirs.

Part 1-Ocean Manor is NOT a large resort. I like the rooms. The only inconvenience are that the only air conditioning unit is in the living room, so you need to leave the door open in order to get some cool air and the only TV is also in the living room. No elevators either. We had a 2 bedroom unit at the 3rd floor, good exercise. Good bar by the pool and by the restaurant. The people are friendly.

Ocean Manor has 33 Units. Has Free Internet but only at the front desk or the computers lounge, If you don't have your Computer there are 2 CPU that you can use it for FREE, also is a X-box to use it there for FREE. The best Deal with the taxis is by your self. The electricity Fee doens't exists anymore, Anyways Nice VIdeo.

Mike - great job of posting all 3 vids! Gives a "real-life" view vs the resort's promotional video. My wife and I are going first week of Feb 2009 (we'll just miss tv, the earlier post). They've gone mandatory All Inclusive, AFTER we made reservations, and too late to cancel...I've seen mixed reviews at TripAdvisor, so not sure what to expect. We'll hope for the best!
