Grown in the wild in Asia for centuries, star fruit trees make unique focal points for gardens. The five-pointed star shape fruit can be either eaten off the tree or used in a host of dessert recipes. As a tropical tree, it grows best in zones 10 to 11.

Make sure that you plant your tree in full sunlight with well-draining soil. Soil that has a pH range above 7 cannot properly support the tree. Caring for your star fruit tree will give you bountiful harvests of an interesting fruit.
