Italian tango "Scrivimi" became in Russia such a great hit that "gained" even Russian authors, names A.Ostrovsky -- I.Arkadiev can be found on all Russian records with this tune; recorded there even under two different titles: "Mne sevodnia tak bolno" (It's so painful for me today)or/and "Jesli mozhesh, prosti" (Forgive, if you can).

We should not forget that such a "borrowing" of original music happened many a time: in sixties, old Russian song "Dorogoj dlinnuyu" became an Anglo-American hit - "Those were the days"...-

Great number in the repertoire of outstanding Russian singer, Izabella Yurieva (already introduced on YT by Maria 21031903) who died in Moscow a few years ago at the age of 101.

  • This is going to sound odd, but do not be offended - I read in a book about Lee Oswald and Marina, that they danced tangos, cha chas, and sambas in his Minsk apt. after meeting - I recall the word "Scrivimi" either in that section, OR at the wedding celebration and wondered what it meant - is this word particular to a dance, place, person? Is it a proper name? Is little Lee somehow evoked in association with this piece? I like it, thank you for posting.

  • Scrivimi - means in Italian language: Write to me ! - for instance a letter. And about it is this song. And in this way this title/word should be cenceived.

There are still two different versions of Scrivimi on my channel.

    Thank you.

  • ( Ecris-moi )

    Magnifique......

  • You may hear it also in Polish on my channel...-

    Merci,

    J.

  • Oh, NO... - only very first notes and very little.

  • ..hаppened to listen Izabella Yurieva many times..

Her deep..melodic voice can't leave anybody indifferent..:-)

And I was surprised to read a short article (Wiki) that she was Jewish from a Jewish family (Livikov).Another article with more information doesn't mention it at all..:-)

Somebody may say : So what..?...Big deal !

    And yet...it is a big deal !

Thanks for sharing pan Jurek !

  • This is a WONDERFUL!

  • По-русски это называется "Слёзы"...

  • Жаль только одного, что этот чарующий голос больше не услышиш в живую. Это просто потрясающе, я преклоняюсь перед Вами - Изабелла Юрьева.

  • Sound is odd, because it has been restored from old record. If you wiil search for her name she was very famous Russian singer.

  • Thank you, jurek46pink!
