After 25 years of listening to and selling music, ten hours a day, every day in my record store, this is it. My number one CD, my desert island pick and I got to choose from 100,000 CD's at any given time across all genres, although I can't say this bootleg recording does Begonias justice. Jennifer Warnes Famous Blue Raincoat comes in at No 2.

Man, I don't like to take risks when it's time to buy music. However, knowing where Caitlin comes from (Whiskeytown), I decided to buy Begonias, and the song you mentioned, it was so mesmerizing that it's hard to describe

Begonias is an amazing album, just listened to it again today. There's a song starting "Katie's gone to California," just magic.

That's a tall statement, but I agree. Everything about it is quality. And, in a way, its semi-obscurity adds to its value ... but another duet effort would still be welcome!
