This is a 20 meter antenna I created using 9 Buddipole arms for a total of 16.5 feet

  • George, I am able to make contacts. I can contact most of what I hear from 20 meters on up. I use my MFJ IntelliTuner. Stations on 40 meters do not hear me as well. I am very low in the noise to most of them. I guess it will have to do for now.

  • @Stephen; I have actually used the 4 arm and long nine and a half foot whip. But I intend to ultimately use the 9 arm antenna out in the field. I wanted something more rugged than the whip. You are right though, the whip would be a little lighter. I am glad that with either 9 or 4 arms I do not have to use a coil.

  • Were you able to make contacts? I hope so! Thanks for the video. George, N0JRJ

  • Wouldn't it be easier to use 4 arms and a long whip - less strain..
