11 year old Jackson Danger, never had the chance to see Jerry perform live in person. He has learned about Jerry thru youtube videos, discovering what a great talent Jerry Garcia was. Dad loved and followed Jerry Garcia for many years. To now watch Jerry videos from the 80's (Jerry performing in his early 40's) it is sad to see the Drugs drain his soul from his body, Just look at his eyes, tired, heavy. But he still played beautiful guitar. I think Jackson has learned a valuable lesson about protecting the gifts God gives you, an sharing those gifts with others. Jerry Garcia was definately a giver- wish he would have taken better care of himself, then Jackson could have worked his way to the front row and experienced the magic of Jerry. Jackson shouts out "Mom, where are you" and works his way down to the front center of shows. Jackson has seen Bob Dylan 3 time on the front row, Steve Miller Band, Mark Knopfler, John Prine, Coldplay,The Police, Paul McCartney, James Blunt, Willie Nelson. The advantage to being a skinny little kid! Front row to every show. I'm disappointed he missed Jerry. Enjoy Althea, he worked very hard on it.

  • I'm working on "I Know You Rider" Check back in a few weeks. I perform fridays and saturdays, snow ski (or mountain bike in the summer) on Mondays and Wednesdays, I have Boy Scouts on Tuesday, and have guitar sessions with local musicians on Thursday. I wish I could drop school and focus on guitar- but my Dad has had me listen to too many Kris Kristophersen songs. They are about being cold, lonely and broke. Thanks for your kind words.

  • Thank you for your compliments- I had to see John Prine in concert to really understand and love his music so much. I wish he was younger- I worry sometimes that I will not get the chance to see him or hopefully play with him. He has an Aunt that lives nearby in Utah, usually he hits utah about once a year. We will see. Stay cool Jacky Check out Ray Bonneville, I'm working on his song "River John"

  • Thanks for your supportive comments- I cannot imagine playing with Weir or Lesh. It would be a dream come true. Maybe someday they will disover me. I got a new guitar this week, it is a Gibson J-45. I worked my butt off playing for tips to pay for it, I just posted a new song called Hold On. My Dad says it is time to retire my Baby Taylor. Peace

  • I live less than an hour from 9 ski resorts, and the girls are nice- thanks for watching

  • It's tuff when you live in Utah to see strong bands like the Allmanns

  • Thank you< I have been playing at my Dads restaurant on the weekends, most people tell me to keep it up and I could be amazing. I really like John Prine and want to sing and write music as cool as his. Check up on me later, I plan on getting better- 2 hours a day is my rule jacky

  • Great job, youngblood! That's one of my favorite Dead songs, to listen and play! Keep it up, I'd love to hear more!

  • good singing, good playing

  • Not only is it cool that you are playing one of Hunter/Garcia's best songs way better than most adults could (including myself !). it is VERY COOL to hear someone your age say how much he appreciates John Prine. ;)

  • Ha! That was awesome bud, I wasn't expecting you to break it out flawless and with vocals! I see it says you perform at your dad's restaurant, which is awesome because you're already comfortable playing in front of people. Once that voice drops a few octaves you'll be able to sound just like the guy's you admire. Keep it up brother!

  • Outstanding! Great phrasing!

  • Fantastic!!

  • My favorite G.D. tune, younger bro.

  • Nice work Jackson!
