The Jolson Story is a 1946 musical biography which purports to tell the life story of singer Al Jolson. It stars Larry Parks as Jolson, Evelyn Keyes as "Julie Benson" (approximating Jolson's wife, Ruby Keeler), William Demarest as his manager, Ludwig Donath and Tamara Shayne as his parents, and Scotty Beckett as the young Jolson.

romanwheelz, im with you its not racist, and neither is fools and horses and other great tv and films , of yester year, they were more inocent times than now,
one could now say that rap music is racist against white people and homophobic against gays, this film was made in 1946 not 2011 , saw an interview with don warren and he was asked was riseing damp racist, and he said no , not for its time, but today the correct police would never let it be made, and thats the times we now live in.

I wonder how this went in real life; you were late Jolson! Well, maybe a minstrel show isn't worthy of my talents you dumb hack. Well, take a hike. Fine, fuck you. Just kidding. But I think some rough spots in his career are necessarily glossed over.
