This is a Portal map I made in the Hammer Editor. This is my third map, and my first long map. I have two other maps, one with fire alarms and one that sucks since it was my first steps into Hammer.

Platform Journey
Part 1: Drop cubes on to buttons. If the player portals into the button area, the cubes self-destruct and a wall opens revealing a turret behind a forcefield, providing no escape for the player.
Part 2: Up the stairs to a dark room with four turrets and one button.
Part 3: Time the piece of ceiling and the door right to get a cube for another button.
Part 4: A couple of turrets in a hallway.
Part 5: Fling around a glass wall to get to a small room with a cube for another button.
Part 6: More turrets in a hallway, and a surprise turret trap hidden behind a wall.
Part 7: Three buttons need to be pressed to open a door. A water hazard is present. If the player enters the water with the portal gun, it explodes and kills the player. A pedestal is provided for the portal gun to be placed on before jumping in to the water. A drain is provided since there are areas underwater where the portalgun is necesary. BUT the player needs to be quick because the drain is on a timer!
Part 8: Elevator to the end of the level.

  • The lighting and textures are a little off. In part 2 there's not a lot of "thinking with portals" going on. Other than that it's a great map with quite some potential :-) I especially liked the water hazard and the flinging. Good job.

  • 1:15 Quite a dark room. Add some lighting to it? Other than that sweet map.

  • How do i place the gun in the stand at the start? PLz reply!

  • Many of your materials needed shifted on the X-axis about 64 units so it looks more modular. Not that I don't like the map, I'm just really anal-retentive :P
