Premier Wen Jiabao has arrived in Pakistan for an official visit, where he will hold talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and other leaders. The trip aims to boost bilateral cooperation in trade, humanitarian aid, and other issues of common interest.
Premier Wen was granted a warm welcome by his Pakistani counterpart upon arrival at Islamabad airport. The Premier is being accompanied by a delegation of 200 business personnel, where they will attend a China-Pakistan business summit. The Foreign Ministry says China's participation in Pakistan's post-flood reconstruction is one of the main issues of Wen's visit. Ties between the two countries have been friendly since diplomatic relations were established in 1951. Pakistan is the second leg of Wen's two-nation South Asia trip, after the Premier visited India earlier in the week.
