  • Thank god 50 years of an successful embargo.it created democracy, Fidel is gone..oh wait. the embargo has been a completely failure and punished Cubans in America.

  • I would hope Rubio also shares the same concern for democracy for our allies in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, China and all the hard currency, and trade that goes to these allies, but that is clearly of no concern.

  • @jcboller I totally agree with you :D and to those people who keep saying that Marco Rubio is one of 'them' I find that statement completely unnesissary, ignorant, and just plain stupid! He IS Cuban, why would anyone try to change that, and I hope he is proud to be Cuban because it should be an honor. Just because he's in America, and just because he is in the government (some what) doesn't make him AMERICAN. That's just totally ignorant....

  • End all embragoes, trade restrictions and travel restrictions and Cuba will again be the gem of the Caribbean and regardless of names associated with the government, Cubans, as they demand more from their government will increasingly see more freedoms. Stop hurting innocent cubans with US foreign policy!

  • Look at how China dealt with a "rogue island" of its own coast, Taiwan. Instead of embargoes, it has encouraged active trade and intercourse of all types between Chinese and Taiwanese. 50 years later, more than ever, Taiwanese are less and less willing to fight for official independence from China.

  • My theory is that the emotional state of exiled Cubans is that they are resentful of Cuban citizens who either sided with the revolution or consented by not trying hard enough to leave. Why do I say this? Well an embargo only hurts the people and helps the government via the presence of an exterior enemy .

  • Interesting how Marco wants to CENTRALLY PLAN interactions with an island that he hopes will return to DEMOCRACY. Has anyone pointed out this impossibility to him?

  • Has a cubanamerican I can tell you that these pleople are Vultures that feed on putrified politic, that coused hungry, disease and dead to thousands of cuban a long with family separation and they will licked to keeped thatway because they make alot of money this way

  • Same tired right-wing exile nonsense that has zero benefit to the residents of the island. These people should give over it and follow the same US policy that current exists between China, Vietnam, Syria, and Saudi Arabia.

  • god bless marcos rubo as cuban american iam proud of him i tell my kids to fololw his rollmodel
