This is a very simple example of how to use a powered mine cart to transport materials from my base to the strip mine nearby. It's not complex at all, and it's pretty easy to make if you have enough iron. It works from my base to my strip mine and vice versa, but the way back is horribly long and not worth making a video of.

  • HOw do u make the powered minecart go on its own i need to constantly press and hold the right mouse down and even then it goes in the wrong direction...WTF is going on how hard can making a train be JESUS

  • @BlargianLore17 Read the top comment:

"Take a piece of coal or charcoal i think, look in the direction you want it to drive, and with the coal out right click for roughly a 4 minute ride."

They have to be 3 or more minecarts, or else it won't be able to go up hills. The powered minecart also has to be in the back.

  • I want to put rails down to my mine which is secluded from my home but the problem is i cant find enough iron!!! Where did you find all the iron for your rails? Ive only had ebough for a few.

  • @cal352 See how my mine leads to a giant room? That's at layer 6(?), where bedrock doesn't spawn. I then create branched rooms from there. You run into a bit of redstone, as well as the occasional iron and diamond. Coal isn't too big of a problem that you should have to mind solely for that.

  • thanks man and just so you know that is aswome its so trippy when it's going really fast

  • It only works on regular rails, doesn't work on powered rails. How do you use power rails anyway?

  • As of Beta 1.8.1, they are very bugged: they don't move if they're in east-west direction

  • @cal352 What he said, that and if you ever find an occasional collection of water pools or a huge cave like open area, theres bound to be iron and even some Lapis Lazuli (Which is useless unless you want a blue dye) i find tons and tons of iron, more so than i used to when i started what, 3 weeks ago, just go into big underground cave-like rooms, you'll see what i mean, but you'll have to dig too :D Good Luck

  • how do u get into the minecart?

  • @EffYouImADragon dude i dont get it,is it because i play in 1.8 now?the cart with the furnace and coal doesn't go unless theres no cart in front of it....
