If you spray foam the walls on the inside, how can one finish off the basement? what if i wanted to put some drywall in the basement?
also , how do we know 100% that spray foam is safe to breathe?

We put up stud walls on the inside of the basement concrete wall, keep it off an inch or from the concrete wall, and fill the cavity with insulation. Then we drywall the basement wall.
The only way we know what is safe to breathe is by the testing, VOC rating, etc from the manufacture. This is not a wonderful thing, even if they say it is great. But all products have this potential. Fiberglass insulation is starting to be a concern. Paper fiber/ink for cellulos may be a problem. So?!?

The concrete wall is 10" thick. The exterior has two layers of 2" foam board [4" total] plus 5" of spray foam on the inside. We also added 2 layers of 2" under the concrete floor.
