Amy LaVere performing "Killing Him" off her second album, "Anchor and Anvils." The performance took place at the Basement in Nashville, TN on May 18, 2007. Her two albums are available for purchase at www.archer-records.com.
How could anyone complain about her voice. I listened to 50 versions of "Baby wont you please come home", because NPR played that version, and I wanted to know where that voice was coming from. Her vocals are her. Nothing dramatic, true to key, honest in emotional convey, and far from overly standard or generic. I like it when class comes across, but does'nt sound like it comes from a retirement home. A new Classic
Was at that gig in Menai Bridge. She was excellent and such a wonderful friendly person.Best 8 quid I,ve ever spent.Good luck Amy.Hope you have a great future.
Just bought Anchors & Anvils CD. Love her style and will be going to her gig at Menai Bridge, Wales on 11th October. Sadly she likely won't have Bob Furgo with her, the gypsy violin (fiddle) really adds to sound on album.
Could have recorded this number, executed perfectly. This has a very hypnotic summer blues feeling to it.

On Hulu people were complaining about her singing, seems it not perfect enough for them. I came to her defense.
Her singing style reminds me of Lou Reed's singing. And no one complains about his singing.
