Back in the 80s the networks would have saturday morning preview specials to showcase the upcoming saturday morning cartoons for the upcoming season. A great way back then to get kids talking and circling times in the TV Guide.

This is a full 1982 Saturday Morning Pac Preview Party hosted by Dick Clark. The cartoons features are "The Mork & Mindy, Laverne & Shirley, Fonz Hour", "Pac-Man", "Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo", "The Puppy's Further Adventures", "The Little Rascals" and "Mork & Mindy".

Aside from seeing bits from those cartoons, you get to see Henry Winkler and Frank Welker voice a cartoon segment as The Fonz and his dog Mr. Cool, Willie Tyler and Lester do a bit, and Marty Ingels demos how he does the voice of Pac-Man.

It also includes all of the commercial breaks featuring the following products: Cascade, Milk Bone, Era, Head and Chest, Nature Valley Granola & Fruit Bars, Agree Shampoo, Brut, Sure deodorant, Luvs diapers, Kibbles 'n Bits and Crest toothpaste

  • I just have to say in case it hasn't already been said... thank you for uploading this. I know we have the usual people here who will say this cartoon is crap and so on, but this was part of my childhood... commercials and all. This is how HUGE Pac Man was, before every child had a Nintendo DS pasted to their hands. No these are not emmy winning cartoons but some of us sat down with a bowl of cereal every Saturday morning and loved these shows - for whatever the reason. It still holds some magic

  • @youngrebels75 You're welcome! I put up whatever I can for people to enjoy. Either to remember the good old days or for people to see what it was like back in the coolest decade to grow up. ;)

  • I wish I could've been there to see Henry Winkler's reaction when Hanna-Barbera came in and said "we got a great idea for a Happy Days cartoon...you'll be the main star...with your faithful friend!"

    "Richie?"

"No. Mr. Cool the talking dog!"

    "...."

  • oh my god, when I was a kid these specials were so exciting!!

  • I second the sentiments of youngrebels75. I can't believe this is on here! I remember this special quite clearly. Thanks so much for this!

  • Correction: THREE-network star! He also co-hosted the "Bloopers" show on NBC. Dick Clark is the first TV personality to simultaneously host series on all three networks (FOX wasn't around then)

  • Look out, Dick, you have Dr. Claw, Darseid, and Megatron/Galvatron all wrapped into one person on your set, lol. Frank Welker is one of the best ever.

  • @Ricky2400 Yep. And Dick Clark would become a two-network star that fall, as well, as his old game show, the $25,000 Pyramid, was back on the air, this time on CBS.

  • I remember seeing this show back in '82! Anyone could tell that it was shot on the American Bandstand set. Very fitting, as AB was indeed part of the ABC Saturday lineup!

  • @tulllguy or being verbally abusive to a child

  • @brianb9532 if that happened today, he'd be called a racist. 1:21
