I agree it does have the potential to be dangerous. Something interesting here though is that this balloon sat all day before igniting, it is a 'slow / duller' explosion relative to a balloon that was just filled. Hydrogen, being the simplest molecule, is also the smallest that I'm aware of. It would appear here that much of the hydrogen has leaked through the pours of the balloon leaving primarily oxygen. Do you think there may be potential for filtering here ;o), worth exploring!
i hope you use ear protectors, i did the same thing without one and my ears are still ringing.. a year later. be safe.. using a balloon is not smart with hydrogen
