1987 NCAA Tournament West Region 2nd round game between UTEP (#7 seed) and Iowa (#2 seed). Iowa had Roy Marble and BJ Armstrong on the team with Dr. Tom Davis coaching. UTEP fell short in this game 84-82; however, they played great and could have won if they hadn't made some silly mistakes. The pace of the game in the first half was frenetic. Next to the 1992 team, this team was one that could have made it to the Sweet 16 or further.
