French-language rendition of "Look Through Any Window." Not sure but this might be the only song they recorded en francais.

  • To your knowledge, did the Hollies record any songs in German?

  • @1951DDR Never heard of them doing so.

  • As said above, the Hollies recorded several songs in French for a planned EP in 1965. I once saw a slick (proof) of the sleeve being sold in a shop for beaucoup money! The tracks were this one, and French versions of Stewball, You Know He Did, and Keep Off Of That Friend Of Mine. I can't figure out why that EP was never released when so many British and American artists were doing that at the same time.

  • @notholding2 The French versions of Window, Stewball, You Know He Did, and We're Through have just been released on an EMI budget CD box set called "The Clarke, Hicks and Nash Years."

  • Thanks for posting this. They also recorded Stewball and You Know He Did in French but these haven't yet been released.

  • Good to know, thanks for schoolin' me.

  • Now to find that elusive "Sign of the Times" by Petula Clark in French. It was on Youtube for a bit...

  • Garçons et jolies filles! Paraphrasing 'Hollies Rarities' sleeve notes: An attempt in 1965 to forstall a series of cover versions of Hollies hits by solo French singers. The lads learned the lyrics phonetically and sang with heart and soul only for the French record company to throw the results back in their faces. "We could have been singing in Swahili" recalls Allan Clarke, "and apparently the French felt the same!"

  • Love da Hollies in any language....U Go Guys

  • J'aime ce chanson! Et les Hollies aussi. Merci beaucoup...
