Watch Kevin replace the motor on a Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaner. Although a bit fiddly this repair is not difficult if the video instructions are followed. The same motor is used in the DC07 and fitting is near identical.

The Dyson motor used in this video is the genuine part and can be ordered from the link below:

  • Thanks for this very useful. Putting the new motor back into the motor housing can be a tight squeeze. To make this part of the job much easier, smear some washing up liquid on the rubber boot and around the inside of the motor housing. The motor will then just slip into place! :)

  • Thankyou very much for this tutorial - my dc14 is now good as new! Thankyou!

  • Thanks for a really useful video. I used it to replace a broken top motor cover. However, notice that Kevin forgets to fit the exhaust filter before he clips on the exhaust filter cover towards the end of the video? Easy enough to unclip and fit if, like me and Kevin, you forget as well!

  • Thanks guys, nice video. Easy for a novice like me to follow and a nice professional video too. Keep up the good work :)
