@irish89055 14 years is long time but it never seems long enough.Its never easy lossing a loving pet :( I am all to familiar with the ears. But yes they are so lovable its worth it. The rescues are full of Cockers and other breeds just waiting for a loving home. There is a deserving dog waiting for you. Hope you find what you are looking for :)  Ray

@gravylegs1 thanks, gravy. I lost my male cocker in 2010... He lived until 14, longer than most do I believe, even though he had some defects (see comment above)... It's been almost two years and I think I'm ready for another dog. I love Cocker Spaniels best but may find a rescue on some dog that is of approx size. I think Cockers are the best size not too large or small. The ears are a constant problem but they're so loveable...

@PikachuKawaii1 One that doesn't breed their dogs constantly, without standards.... no rest, ect... I'm not a breeder but understand many defects in Cockers come from overbreeding, I lost mine since I made the above post in 08, he had a congenital cataract, hip dysplasia, though he lived until 14, above age for cockers..

@larryraiken Abandon Angels is an awesome rescue.What they do is a beautiful thing. I was going to get my Cocker there. But there was a Cocker on death row at my local shelter. And I couldn't leave him behind. And I am grateful to have gotten such a sweet dog :)

We got our cocker as a rescue! "Abandoned Angels" is a great site. Our little one is very soft and cuddly, and took about 3 days to be the boss of the house.
