This movie literally hypnotized. Great role of Zhang Ziyi. It is a story of love, which we all seek, love, pure and sincere. I honestly fell in love with this film set design and composition. Zhang Yimou are great!!!

i love this film seen it so many times and every one i told to  watch it loved it as well zhang yimou is a director who never misses out a thing and zhang zi if as beautiful as any woman ever cast in a film her preformance is what brings the magic to this amazing simplistic story of love

sensitivity in this wonderful piece of ART that brings out whatever little

good is still left in us. Needless to say, this very sensitivity is worth

@ydraki couldn't agree more dear friend. That scene when she is running after the teacher to give him the dumplings but she trips gets me all the time...it fills me up with overwhelming sorrow - and I am a 40 year old man! hahaha! wonderful film!

@patmorac I too think it is one of the best films I've ever seen and sensitivity is what matters most in arts, not big budgets, costly sets or highly paid but essentially "empty" Hollywood stars. The sensitivity I refer to in "The Road Home" clearly is its INNOCENCE in FIRST LOVE, something rare these days in the western world. A 5 stars work of art for me.

This film is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. I have seen it on SBS in Australia several times but always managed to miss what it was called - I've just found out!!!
