"XY" - What is memory? Who is a person, but the reflection of his or her own memories? There are three main stages in the formation and retrieval of memory. Encoding, Storage and Retrieval. What happens when the calculated nature of society, through the use of numbers as a classification element to label people, encroaches on personal memories and dehumanizes the individual as a result?
Do arbitrary numbers, e.g. Social Security Numbers, Credit Card Numbers, Phone Numbers, etc. define who the individual is or does one's own personal experiences that he or she remembers establish the composite representation of the individual.
