LTR 1100 telescoing boom system

My LTR1100 telescoping boom operation.
Shown at 4x normal speed, normal speed video is over 7 mins.
Note the very niffty fingers!!!!!!
Boom length is 3300mm into a very blue sky...

Can you how its extending and what you are doing by hand while this is going on, i am trying to sort out an extension boom for a project and this looks like the key

Hi Crash5291,

Screws are was to 'pin' each section to the next section to be extended.

Telescoping is by small electric motor and ball screw.

Great to hear you want to build a crane. Will it be a Liebherr??? The boom I had made by a local engineering firm, it's two folded 'U' sections welded together for each boom section.

Yes it'shome made, Lathe and milling machine in my workshop.

I used the Liebherr product ref for the LTR as a guide. Just used a bit of licence in the details.

Quite a few porblems to over come with the way the telescoping operates.

the telescopic boom is always the most complicated part to build in a RC crane...but your system seems very good, simple and functional. cheers from an other "crane builder"

dude how did you make the boom cus i wana make a model crane but faced with many problems but mainly how to make the boom from scrach please reply im scrachin my head here
